Zentsu-ji Garan Complex (East Temple)

Commentary
This is the Hall of Tabi Daishi (high monk for travel). The stone pillar within the hall was once used as a guidepost on the pilgrimage route. Although it was placed close to Zentsu-ji, it was moved to inside the temple grounds due to construction work to widen the road. An image of Kobo Daishi is on the surface of the stone pillar, and many pilgrims gather in front of it to pray for a safe journey.
